Stadhuis Leiden

In collaboration with Office Winhov, architects Studio Linse designed a fresh and contemporary interior for this important monument in the historic university city of Leiden, where Rembrandt once began his life and career. Offices, meeting rooms, lounges and lobbies as well as an inviting communal space invite locals to meet and enjoy the exhibitions and events. The newly created courtyard invites daylight into a park-like courtyard designed by the artist.

The lush and rich marble of the monument has been respected, as well as the stunning Escher marquetry, bronze detailing and heavy decoration, while the newly added furniture is simple and modest, light and elegant, making the whole a attractive and energetic place to work, meet and linger.
